Chasing Talent

Pursuing Talent in Today’s World

by Lisa Rose

Like so many other software development companies, Fusion Alliance seeks to attract top talent to help us drive business forward and provide solutions to clients within the IT industry.

As a recruiter for Fusion Alliance, my job is to locate, interview, and present to the management team Indy’s best business technology solution consultants.  With the social networking sites available, locating talent is not the challenge that it was several years ago when the only tool available to us was a phone book and a phone.  Before 1995—this was before the Internet—we were using print media and ads to help with our sourcing.

Gone are the days of the Rolodex and index cards. Now we have access to current employers and job histories with a click of the mouse.  Network updates on social sites provide us information on status and even a window into what people are thinking, reading, and even the places to which they are traveling. To be successful, there still must be a good balance between utilizing the latest technology to communicate and forming a personal connection.

Staying connected and cultivating relationships is the strategy that our recruiting team uses to attract that top talent to Fusion Alliance.  We get to that talent first before they have spoken to other companies, and we offer them a career in IT solutions delivery and not just a job. We know that our success lies in the people of our company.  To learn more, look around our website and read about some of the solution successes we have had.

To pursue and capture the right person, we must not only be able to find out if they tweet, we must have reached out and connected to them in a way that they remember us and have been impressed enough to want to be part of a dynamic, growing business technology firm, now or when they are ready to make a career change.
