Mobile Application Strategy: What Type of Apps Should we Build?
From information security to software testing, we deal with a number of different technology-enabled business solutions at Fusion Alliance, however one of the fastest growing segments continues to be mobile application strategy.
Why is mobile so big? With the growing popularity of smartphones and tablets, the number of potential customers carrying these mobile devices is proliferating at a surprising rate! For that reason, it should come as no surprise that businesses are looking for practical opportunities to target and communicate with potential customers using this technology.
Mobile Web, Native or Hybrid Apps: What Type of Mobile Application is Best?
When planning the implementation of a mobile application, clients often ask us, “What type of application should we build? What type of mobile application will provide the maximum user benefit with the lowest implementation cost?”
At a high level, there are a number of different apps to consider—the three most basic being: mobile web apps, native apps and hybrid apps—and each provides different benefits. As a result, it can be difficult to sort out which type of mobile app will best serve the need of the company and its customers.
For this reason, “What type of app should we make?” isn’t the only or even the first question we encourage companies to ask before mobile app development. Other important strategic questions include:
- Who is the audience for this mobile application?
- Which features should your mobile app have?
- How should the app be delivered?
Our upcoming mobile strategy video series will address these mobile strategy questions in more detail. Make sure to check out our YouTube channel to learn more.
